SSS Outdoors 2018

SSS Outdoors 2018

The club trains in smallbore for the majority of the year, from September until April. We welcome shooters of all experience levels, from absolute beginners all the way up to international athletes. Our team of coaches provide a detailed step-by-step programme to allow you to progress from total novice to being able to shoot at competition level. The club also provides all the necessary kit as part of your membership fee so there is no requirement to buy any of your own equipment; the only thing you are need to purchase is your ammunition.

For those who have completed the coaching programme and are keen to shoot in a competitive setting, the club also enters several shoulder to shoulder competitions throughout the smallbore season.  There are indoor competitions between the Scottish Universities (SSS) that are held at Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, St Andrew’s and Perth.  We also enter several postal competitions for those who want to shoot in a competitive setting at our own range.  We shoot outdoors at 50 and 100 yards at a SSS competition in Aberdeen in March and at the BUCS outdoor championships in Warrington in April.

Competitions are not only a great way to meet other shooters from all over the country but also shooting shoulder to shoulder under timed conditions is a very good way to improve your skills.  There are also socials at all the competitions and they are always a good way to celebrate the success of the day.

The club is consistently one of the most successful university smallbore clubs across both Scotland and Britain, and we want you to be a part of it!

If you have previous shooting experience and would like to try for the team please contact the smallbore captain here.
