Fullbore

The range at Blair Atholl

During the warmer months of the second semester, after the conclusion of the smallbore season, the club makes the transition to fullbore, which is shot with larger calibre rifles (7.62) at much greater distances (300, 500, 600, 900 and 1000 yards).  We train a few times at the range at Blair Atholl where there is also a competition between all the Scottish Universities towards the end of May, a match that the club has won more times than all the other Scottish universities put together.  EURC has now won the match in both this season and the last.

Despite the club not fielding a team in the BUCS match at Bisley this year, two of our members (who were representing GB U25 and GB U21) did exceptionally well in the Queen’s Prize Final, with both now X class shooters placing them among the top shooters in the country.
