We offer a trial session the first time you come and see us just so you can get a feel for the sport and whether or not you’d like to join.
Founded in 1956, the University of Edinburgh Rifle Club is one of the most successful university rifle clubs in Scotland, competing across Scotland and England in smallbore (.22), fullbore (7.62) and air disciplines. We are currently the holders of the Scottish Universities Indoor League title and Outdoor Championship as well as the British Universities Indoor and Outdoor Championships. We are a small and friendly club and are always on the lookout for new members to improve both the competitive and recreational sides of the club.
Don’t worry if you have never shot before, we will guide you through our comprehensive coaching programme with one to one sessions. Everyone, from beginners to experienced shooters, is welcome at either of the training sessions, on Tuesday from 6:30pm-9:00pm and on Wednesday from 5:00pm-7:30pm where one of our experienced coaches will be happy to take you through your first ten shots. Click here to read more about our smallbore training and coaching.
Once you have passed the coaching programme then you are able to come down at training and shoot without a coach, and even represent the university at one of the many competitions we go to. Click here to read more about smallbore competitions.
Air Disciplines is on Mondays 8:00pm-9:00pm (Air Pistol and Air Rifle). Further information can be found here.
