Founded in 1956, the University of Edinburgh Rifle Club is one of the most successful University rifle clubs in Scotland, competing across Scotland and England in smallbore (.22), fullbore (7.62) and air disciplines. We currently hold the Scottish Universities Indoor League title, Outdoor Championship title, as well as the British Universities Outdoor Championships title. We are a friendly club always on the lookout for new members to improve both the competitive and recreational sides of the club.
Everyone is welcome to join, from complete beginners to international athletes. If you have never shot before, we can guide you through our comprehensive 10-step coaching programme with one-to-one sessions at your own pace. The range is open for training:
Tuesdays: 6:30pm-9:00pm (followed by the weekly Club Social!)

Once you have passed the coaching programme then you are able to shoot without a coach, and even represent the university at the many competitions we attend. Click here to read more about smallbore competitions.
Air Disciplines train on Mondays 7:30pm-9:00pm (Air Pistol and Air Rifle). Further information can be found here.
To find out more about the club you can explore our website. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or suggestions!
Trial sessions are available (£2 to cover our insurance) throughout both semesters so you can get a feel for the sport before you decide whether or not you’d like to join.
